Planting technology and management of okra

1. Planting technology

1. Seed germination: When planting, choose healthy and full seeds so that they can germinate and grow better. Its seed coat is relatively hard and should be soaked for about ten hours before planting, and then placed in a warm environment to germinate. Wait until you see the seeds open before sowing.

2. Prepare the soil: Choose suitable soil when planting. The soil layer should be deep, breathable and loose. Before planting, turn the soil, dry it in the sun and disinfect it. After that, you need to add base fertilizer to provide it with enough nutrients.

3. Sowing seeds into the soil: After the soil is prepared, you can sow the seeds into the soil. Make sure to moisten it before planting. When using the spot seeding method, there should be a distance of 25 to 30 centimeters between the two holes and they should not be too close. After planting, cover with a thin layer of soil and it will soon take root and sprout. When three or five true leaves grow, it can be transplanted.

2. Post-planting management

1. Fertilizer and water: More nutrients are needed in the early stages of growth and they must be replenished in time. It should be watered once a week, and each time it should be watered thoroughly, but be careful not to allow water to accumulate. In addition, fertilizers need to be applied in the later stage, and phosphorus and potassium fertilizers can be used. Supplementing more nutrients will help it grow more vigorously.

2. Weeding: During the period, you should also pay attention to weeding frequently, which can be done manually to reduce nutrient loss. In addition, when yellow leaves and extra branches and leaves are found, they should be cut off in time to save nutrients.

3. Diseases: Although it has strong disease resistance, it still cannot avoid being attacked by diseases and insect pests. Among them, epidemic diseases are common and need to be controlled by spraying medicines in time.
