How to grow orchids and how often to water them

How to grow orchids and how often to water them

1. How to raise

1. Fertilizer: There are two ways to fertilize orchids. The first is to add base fertilizer to the soil, which is also the case when repotting. The second is to add topdressing during the growing period. The concentration of topdressing applied during the growing period should be lighter than other methods, and is generally based on leaf fertilizer.

2. Temperature: The most suitable temperature for orchid growth is 16-24℃. What you need to pay attention to is in summer and winter. In summer, you must pay attention to keeping it out of the heat, and in winter, you must pay attention to keeping it warm. It is also afraid of cold, so you must move it indoors before the temperature drops. When raising it indoors in winter, you must not only pay attention to the problem of keeping warm, but also ventilate it frequently to ensure air circulation in its growth environment.

3. Light: When breeding, try to place it in a place where the sunlight is not so strong. However, try not to make its growing environment too shaded. If the light is too dark, it will cause it to grow poorly or not bloom.

2. How often should I water?

The frequency and amount of watering for orchids are determined according to the environmental climate. If it is in spring and autumn, it needs to be watered 2 or 3 times a week because the climate in spring and autumn is not particularly dry. In summer, the frequency of watering needs to be faster, basically twice a day in summer. In winter, you need to water sparingly, 1-2 times a week is enough. At this time, the plant is semi-dormant and only needs a small amount of water to maintain it.
