How to cultivate Podocarpus

How to cultivate Podocarpus

1. Nutrient Soil

It is best to use loose soil with good drainage for growing Podocarpus. Such soil is helpful for the growth of the plant, allowing its roots to breathe normally and absorb nutrients and water in the soil. Try to avoid using alkaline soil, which can easily cause the leaves of the plant to turn yellow.

2. See the Sun

During the maintenance process, it must receive an appropriate amount of light. It cannot be exposed to the scorching sun in midsummer, nor can it grow in a dark place for a long time. If you grow it indoors, you need to move it outdoors frequently to get some sunlight, as this will help it grow better.

3. Water frequently

It prefers a humid growing environment, so it needs to be watered more frequently during the cultivation process, especially during the growth period, water should be replenished in time, and water should be sprayed from time to time to keep it moist. However, do not water too frequently, just keep it neither dry nor wet. Be careful not to have excess water in the soil.

4. Apply thin fertilizer

The growth of the plant requires nutrient support from the soil, and some thin fertilizer should be applied during its vigorous growth period. Fertilizers should be decomposed before use. Avoid applying concentrated fertilizers as they can easily burn the roots.

5. Open more windows

Flower lovers who grow flowers indoors should pay attention that the growing environment should ensure air circulation, otherwise it will affect its growth. It is best to place it near the window for maintenance, so that it can not only receive sunlight but also absorb fresh air.
