Cultivation method of iron tree

Cultivation method of iron tree

1. Lighting

It likes light and should be placed in a sunny place and get more sun exposure. However, it should be avoided in time during strong light in summer. In other seasons, it can be exposed to direct sunlight all day. If placed in a shady place, it will easily grow too tall, reducing its ornamental value.

2. Watering

When caring for it, there is no need to water it unless the soil is dry. It is drought-resistant and does not like moisture. Normally, water the plants once every two days in summer, once every three to five days in spring and autumn, and control the water in winter, once every ten days or half a month, so the plants will not die of drought.

3. Fertilization

During the growth period, you should apply thin fertilizer, such as decomposed cake fertilizer or nitrogen and potassium fertilizer, which can promote the growth of branches and leaves and make the plant more vigorous. However, fertilizer should be stopped in time in winter, otherwise it will cause fertilizer damage and seriously affect growth.

4. Temperature

It likes a warm environment, but in the hot summer, you still need to pay attention to watering and ventilating to lower the temperature. Pay attention to temperature control in winter and keep it above ten degrees, otherwise you will get frostbite and cannot survive the winter safely.

5. Pruning

During the maintenance period, pruning should be done once every spring to cut off the old leaves, then control the water and add fertilizer. Soon new leaves will sprout and the growth will be more vigorous, which can improve the ornamental value.
