How to grow orchids

1. Soil

When breeding, it is most suitable to use soil containing humus. River sand, leaf mold, perlite and compost can be mixed together to ensure drainage, and the soil is more fertile and loose, which is more conducive to growth.

2. Lighting

It is relatively shade-tolerant. When caring for it, it should be placed in a place with diffused light in spring, summer and autumn. The daily exposure to light time should be guaranteed to be six to eight hours, and care should be taken to avoid direct sunlight. The temperature is low in winter and the light is mild, and it can accept direct light throughout the day.

3. Temperature

When maintaining it, a temperature between 16 and 24 degrees is best for growth. Its anti-freeze and high temperature resistance are very poor, so you must pay attention to keeping warm in winter and ensure the temperature is above 10 degrees. In summer, it needs to be cooled down and placed in a ventilated and dark place. The temperature should not exceed 30 degrees.

4. Watering

When caring for the plant, be careful not to overwater or underwater it; it is best if the soil is slightly moist. Water the plant about once every 5 to 7 days. The specific number of times should vary with the weather, so that the plant is moist but not wet, and dry but not arid.

5. Fertilization

When applying fertilizer, use low concentration and dilute it with clean water before application. Do not use concentrated fertilizers or raw fertilizers, as they can easily burn the roots and affect growth and development. During the vigorous growth period, use decomposed cake fertilizer water, and before and after the flowering period, use wood ash or potassium dihydrogen phosphate fertilizer liquid.
