How to grow crabapple in spring

How to grow crabapple in spring

1. Proper pruning

When pruning in spring, you should prune away branches that are too dense and too thin, and also prune branches that are too old. The purpose of doing this is to concentrate nutrients, allowing the crabapple to be exposed to more sunlight, making the plant more breathable and conducive to growth.

2. Increase Lighting

Plants that receive sufficient light have healthy branches and bright, full flowers. Plants with insufficient light will have thinner branches and lighter flowers. Especially in spring, which is its growing season, it needs plenty of sunlight to grow healthily. Because of its sun-loving characteristics, it does not need shade when the sun is strong in late spring, and normal maintenance is sufficient.

3. Control temperature

If it is maintained in the open field, it is necessary to prevent spring cold. Although it is spring, the temperature is still low, which will affect the growth of plants, so we should do a good job of cold protection. Generally speaking, when growing it indoors, you should also pay attention to temperature adjustment. It is best to maintain it at around 15 degrees, at which its growth is best.

4. Increase nutrients

The plant likes fertilizer, so it should be fertilized once every half a month during its growing period. You can choose compound fertilizer as fertilizer. If you want the branches and leaves to grow well, you need to control the content of nitrogen fertilizer.
