How to grow bamboo so its leaves don't turn yellow

How to grow bamboo so its leaves don't turn yellow

1. Water appropriately

It likes moist soil but is afraid of waterlogging, so you must pay attention to the amount when watering, and not too much, otherwise the roots will easily rot and the leaves will turn yellow. When there is a lack of water, the leaves will curl up. Water the plant in time when you find this. In addition, water should be controlled in winter to prevent soil freezing.

2. Suitable lighting

Bamboo has a strong adaptability to light and can grow well in full sun or semi-shade. However, it cannot accept strong direct sunlight and should be moved to semi-shaded place during high temperatures in summer. This is more conducive to its growth. Otherwise, it will easily turn yellow due to the sun.

3. Suitable temperature

Most bamboos prefer a warm environment and are suitable for growing in temperatures between 12 and 22 degrees. Pay attention to temperature control in summer and winter. Growth will slow down at high and low temperatures. Especially in winter, once the temperature drops below 5 degrees, it is easy to be frostbitten, the leaves turn yellow, and the plants lose vitality.

4. Scientific fertilization

It grows very fast and requires more nutrients, so it is necessary to apply fertilizer and supplement nutrients in time during maintenance so that it can grow more vigorously. Otherwise, the leaves will turn yellow due to lack of fertilizer. In addition, be careful not to over-fertilize to avoid burning the roots. Fertilization can be applied once a month during the growing season, and the amount should be reduced in summer and winter.
