How to grow rambutan

How to grow rambutan

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: It is generally planted in tropical areas, so the temperature required for its growth is relatively high. Therefore, it is suitable for planting in the south. The temperature of about 25 degrees is very suitable. It cannot be too low. If the temperature is too low in winter, it will be frostbite and will not be able to bear fruit normally the next year.

2. Watering: It has high requirements for water, and the soil must be kept moist so that it can grow lush branches and leaves. At the same time, attention should be paid to watering during the fruiting period, because at this time, if it is satisfied with sufficient water, the fruit will swell rapidly and the yield will also increase.

3. Light: Adequate light can make its flower buds sprout more, and it can adapt to the general environment, so there is no need to worry about strong light posing any threat to it in the summer. It is perfectly fine to receive full sun exposure.

4. Fertilization: Adequate fertilizer will make the plant stronger and the trunk thicker. During daily breeding, you can often add some animal manure organic fertilizer. Fertilizing before flowering can promote more flowering. When it bears fruit, apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers several times to make the fruit grow fuller.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: Sowing is the most commonly used method for rambutan. This method can be planted on a large scale. However, germination is required before sowing, and there should be no accumulation of water after sowing, otherwise the seeds will rot and fail to germinate. When layering, choose healthy branches, preferably one-year-old or two-year-old branches, as the survival rate will be higher.

2. Pruning: The plant needs to be pruned when it is a seedling, mainly to allow the main trunk to grow well. Appropriately cut off some side branches and reduce nutrients. During the subsequent breeding period, pruning should be carried out at any time, but heavy pruning is not recommended.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Disease: Powdery mildew is the main disease. This disease will cover the surface of the plant with a layer of white substance. You can spray carbendazim solution.

2. Pests: Tussock moths will occur. This pest will eat all the flower buds and cause damage to the yield. You can spray pesticides.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is non-toxic, has high nutritional value and is loved by everyone.

2. Can it be raised at home? No, it is usually grown in orchards.
