Freesia dwarfing method

Freesia dwarfing method

1. Control the environment

The growth of freesia is inseparable from water, light and nutrients. Among them, the nutrient factor is more obvious. If the amount and frequency of fertilization can be well controlled, its growth will be inhibited, thus achieving the purpose of dwarfing and controlling the height well.

2. Timely topping

During the growth period of freesia, topping treatment can be carried out in time, that is, the top of its main trunk can be trimmed off. This can inhibit the growth of the main trunk, save a lot of nutrients, and promote the growth of side buds next to it. In the later stage, it can be repeatedly transplanted, which can not only help dwarfing, but also make the plant shape fuller.

3. Use of drugs

If you want to dwarf it, you can go to a flower shop and buy plant dwarfing agents. Just sprinkle them on the soil when planting. This can effectively regulate its growth, control its height well, and make the plant grow thicker and stronger. Or spray on the leaves at a later stage. When spraying, add water at the ratio of 1:500. Start spraying when the leaves grow to 5-10 cm in length. Use it once every half a month, and the effect will be achieved after three times.

4. Pruning

Pruning can effectively help dwarf the plant, and it can be done at any time during maintenance, especially for branches that have grown too long. They can be shortened in time and continuous pruning can ensure dwarfing, which is also beneficial for growth and flowering.
