How to grow snake plant in water through leaf cuttings

How to grow snake plant in water through leaf cuttings

1. Cut the leaves

When doing leaf cutting hydroponics, the most important thing is to cut the leaves. You can choose plants with good growth conditions and cut strong leaves from them. The texture should be thicker to ensure good vitality. Divide the cut leaves into sections of about 5-6 cm. Then place it in a cool place to dry so that the edges are no longer wet and are slightly curled.

2. Prepare the container

The container used can be a smaller flower pot or a glass container, which does not need to be very deep. The water in it can be tap water, but it must be dried in the sun beforehand and cannot be used directly to avoid the chlorine in it affecting growth.

3. Leaf cuttings

Pour a few centimeters of water into the container, and then you can insert the leaves of the snake plant into the container, with larger ones on the outside and smaller ones on the inside.

4. Maintenance and management

Putting it in water is not the end. The snake plant needs to be moved to a place where it can be exposed to scattered light. The stimulation of sunlight can promote root growth. Pay attention to maintaining a good temperature around it, and small roots will grow underneath after a period of time. After the root system is stable, you can move it to the soil for maintenance, just pay attention to the management conditions.
