How to repot Euphorbia pilosa

How to repot Euphorbia pilosa

1. Time Selection

The repotting of Euphorbia milii is usually carried out in spring every year, and other seasons are not as suitable as spring. The climate in spring is moderate and the germination ability is strong, which is very suitable for resuming growth in the later period. It is okay in autumn, but not suitable in summer and winter.

2. Start to remove the basin

You should control the amount of water you apply a few days before depotting, so that the plant can remain relatively dry, which is more conducive to the depotting operation. Hold the flowerpot with one hand and slowly take out the Euphorbia milii with the other hand. During this process, be careful to protect the roots and avoid damage. Because the plant has thorns, you must be careful to avoid being pricked by the thorns. To be on the safe side, you can wear gloves when handling it.

3. Prepare the soil

The choice of flower pots mainly depends on air permeability. Clay pots or ceramic pots should be chosen as these two materials have high air permeability. The soil filled inside should be loose and breathable, with good drainage. It can be mixed with leaf mold, garden soil, and sandy soil, and base fertilizer should be added to ensure nutrition.

4. Planting in pots

Slowly shake off the old soil attached to the Euphorbia milii and remove the aging roots on the roots, being gentle. Fill the flowerpot with soil, plant the Euphorbia milii in it, and fill the soil around the flowerpot. While filling it in, gently shake it to promote the full fit between the roots of the Euphorbia milii and the soil.
