1. BladesIt is a perennial plant with a brown surface. The leaves are oblanceolate, sometimes obovate-lanceolate, green, 4-20 cm long and 1-5 cm wide. The petioles and main veins are usually reddish purple. 2. FlowersIt has one or more peduncles when in bloom, which are as long as the leaves and between 10-25 cm high. The whole is a capitula, the involucre is bell-shaped, light green in color, and has 2-3 layers of bracts. The outer layer is lanceolate, with a light green base and purple-red upper part. The inner layer is linear-lanceolate with purple-red tip. The flowers are ligulate and yellow in color. It usually blooms between April and September, with peak flowering in summer. The flowers can last for a month or two. 3. FruitThe seeds of some varieties will mature about half a month after flowering. Its fruit is achene, which is obovate-lanceolate and dark brown in color. There are small spines on the upper part and small tubercles arranged in rows on the lower part, which gradually shrink at the top to form a beak base.
