Should eucalyptus be grown in water or dried? How long can it survive in water?

1. Water or dried flowers

Eucalyptus fruit can be grown in water or as dried flowers, and the choice mainly depends on how long you want to preserve it. If it is kept in water, the shelf life will be shorter. You also need to observe the water condition at all times and change the water once it becomes turbid. If it is dried flowers, they can be preserved for a longer time. After making dried flowers, there is no need to manage them frequently, just place them in a suitable place.

2. How long can it survive in water?

It can generally survive for 3-5 days in water. If eucalyptus is grown in water, it first needs to be trimmed to an appropriate length and all dead leaves removed. When pruning the ends of branches, cut at a 45-degree angle. Then place the trimmed eucalyptus fruit in water mixed with nutrient solution and store it in a cool and dry place. During maintenance, avoid direct sunlight. You also need to observe the water quality at all times. If the water becomes turbid, change the water immediately.

3. How to make dried flowers

There are two main methods for making dried eucalyptus flowers. One is to hang it to air dry. Choose a warm, dry and ventilated environment, and hang the fresh eucalyptus fruits upside down to air dry. After leaving it for a few days, when the leaves feel crisp to the touch, the dried flowers are ready; the second method is to use a microwave to dry them. Wrap the leaves in paper or an envelope and put them in the microwave on low heat for about 25 seconds.
