The secret to growing orchids well (root cultivation secrets)

The secret to growing orchids well (root cultivation secrets)

1. Rooting

If the orchid's root system is not well developed, the plant will not grow well no matter how hard you try. Therefore, it is necessary to promote the root growth of orchids to make their root system more developed and improve their ability to absorb nutrients. The best way to promote rooting is to mix rooting powder with water and water the roots, or mix aspirin with water and place it in a cool place for 3 hours to hydrolyze and then water the roots. Use it once every 15 or 30 days to make the orchid's root system more developed.

2. Scientific fertilization

Timely supplementing of orchids with appropriate fertilizers can make their roots grow more vigorously. Every two weeks or so, dilute the orchid-specific organic liquid fertilizer with a balanced content of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium 1000 times with water, and then water the orchids along the edge of the pot. You can also apply nitrogen and potassium fertilizers, organic compost and other fertilizers that are beneficial to the growth of plant roots.

3. Suitable humidity

Orchids prefer a growing environment with high air humidity, and the humidity inside and outside the pot needs to be maintained at a certain level. The air humidity in the growing environment needs to be around 70%, and the pot should be wet rather than dry, which is conducive to the germination and growth of orchid roots. Therefore, when caring for orchids, do not place them in a too dry place. You can spray the orchids frequently to moisturize them and maintain the air humidity.

4. Suitable planting material

Orchids like moisture but are afraid of waterlogging, so the soil for planting should have good drainage and air permeability. Orchids can be planted with large-grained planting materials, such as planting stone, volcanic rock, etc. This type of granular planting material is light in texture and very breathable. Combined with some pine bark, it can effectively prevent the orchid from having its roots rot due to the soil being too moist.
