How many leaves does Phalaenopsis have when it blooms?

How many leaves does Phalaenopsis have when it blooms?

1. How many leaves bloom

Phalaenopsis usually takes 2-3 years to bloom, and the flowers will bloom when it grows 4 to 5 leaves. If the plant has not bloomed for a long time, it may be that it has not grown for enough years, the number of leaves grown is too small, and not enough nutrients have been accumulated to supply flowering. Different varieties of Phalaenopsis orchids have different flowering times. If properly maintained, it can bloom twice a year, usually in spring from February to March. After the flowers wither, immediately cut off the remaining flowers and apply fertilizer. This way, it may bloom again in April-June. However, this situation is uncertain, and most of the time it will not bloom again within a year.

2. Reasons for not blooming

If the plant does not bloom for a long time, it may not only be because it is not old enough, but also because the maintenance method is incorrect.

1. Lack of light: If the flowers are not exposed to sunlight for a long time, they will be unable to synthesize nutrients and it will be difficult for them to bloom normally. You can give them sunlight normally during the growth period, especially more exposure to light during the flowering period.

2. Lack of fertilizer: Its flowering period is relatively long, and flowering requires a lot of nutrients. If no fertilizer is applied, the soil in the pot will be too poor and the flowers will not bloom. You can apply fertilizer according to growth needs.
