How long is the Phalaenopsis flower blooming period? How to care for Phalaenopsis flower blooming period?

1. How long is the flowering period?

Usually it blooms in late spring, and the specific flowering period is between April and June each year, which means the flowering period is two or three months. However, if it is a domestic plant, if it is pruned in time after the flowers bloom and provided with a suitable growing environment, it can bloom again and the flowering period will naturally last longer.

2. Maintenance during flowering period

1. Watering: Its roots are fleshy and afraid of waterlogging, so you must pay more attention to watering. The water requirement during flowering will be much lower than usual. You should reduce the frequency of watering. If the soil is not dry, you can stop watering and maintain a certain dry environment. This way the flower color will be more colorful. If you water it frequently, the flowers will fall off easily and the color will fade.

2. Light: It likes sunlight, and during the flowering period, it should be placed in an environment with sufficient scattered light and allowed to bask in the sun more. Be careful to block the strong sunlight in the afternoon, otherwise it will be too strong and you will get sunburned, which will shorten the flowering period. If placed in a dark place for a long time, the color of the flower will fade.

3. Ventilation: Usually place it in a well-ventilated environment. If it is maintained indoors, you can put it on the windowsill, open the windows frequently, ventilate more, and keep the air flowing. If it is in a hot and humid environment, it is susceptible to diseases and insect pests, which will naturally affect its flowering and growth.

4. Fertilization: Apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers before it blooms. It is best to dilute them before applying so that the plant can absorb them faster. Please note that you should stop fertilizing after the flowers bloom. The flowers will have accumulated enough nutrients. Applying fertilizer at this time may burn the roots and cause the flowers to fall prematurely.
