How to prolong the flowering period of daffodils

How to prolong the flowering period of daffodils

1. Flowering time

Daffodil is a highly ornamental flower. It is usually cultivated in bulbs in autumn. After a period of maintenance, it will bloom around January or February, which is around the Spring Festival. The time when the flowering period begins is not fixed. Sometimes the planting time is earlier and it may bloom in December. Sometimes the planting time is later and the flowering time is also later, and it may not bloom until around March. If the plant does not bloom during its flowering period, it may be that the quality of the bulbs you selected is poor, or there is a problem with the maintenance method.

2. How to prolong the flowering period

The duration of the flowering period of daffodils is not fixed. It will be determined by the surrounding temperature. When the temperature remains at around 10 degrees Celsius, the flowering period will be longer and may last for a month. When the temperature is between 8 and 12 degrees Celsius, the flowering period is about 15 to 20 days. However, if the temperature exceeds 23 degrees Celsius, the flowering period can only last for a week. Therefore, if you want to extend the flowering period of daffodils, the surrounding temperature should not be too high and should be kept at around 5 to 10 degrees Celsius.

In addition to controlling the temperature, you can also pour out the water at night and add water in the morning, which can also prolong the flowering time.
