Can the branches cut from the fortune tree be kept alive?

Can the branches cut from the fortune tree be kept alive?

1. Can it be supported?

The most common way to propagate the money tree is by cuttings, so it is easier to keep it alive using cut branches. As long as you pay attention to the treatment of branches, the preparation of potting soil, and some techniques of cuttings, you can greatly improve the survival rate.

2. How to feed

1. Cutting time: The cutting time of the money tree is mostly selected in the peak growth season, generally from June to August. At this time, the branches and leaves contain more water and nutrients, which can help rooting.

2. Branch selection: Find a semi-lignified branch of the current year. Cut small pieces of 10 cm long, leaving 1-2 leaves on them and removing the rest. After cutting, disinfection is required and the potassium permanganate solution should be diluted to pink. Dip the branches into the solution, take them out, dry them, and then start cuttings.

3. Preparation of potting soil: Choose a flower pot with air holes. Place a few tiles on the bottom and add a layer of sand to improve its drainage. Then fill it with sterilized garden soil until it is two-thirds full.

4. Carry out cuttings: insert the dried branches obliquely into the potting soil, 5 cm deep. Then compact the soil and secure the branches to prevent them from falling over. After planting, water it to keep it moist. Then put it in a cool and ventilated environment and wait for it to take root and sprout.
