What to do if the leaves of Buddha's palm become soft

What to do if the leaves of Buddha's palm become soft

reason:

1. The soil is too moist for a long time, or water accumulates but is not drained in time. This phenomenon often occurs in summer when the temperature is high and it is sultry. Plants have stopped growing or are growing slowly, so their ability to absorb water has been greatly reduced. If they are still watered normally at this time, they will easily become soft, and in severe cases they will rot and die.

2. Nutritional imbalance. If it absorbs too much nitrogen fertilizer during the growing period, it is easy for the leaves to grow too long and rot. Moreover, if fertilizer splashes onto the leaves of plants during fertilization, it will cause the leaves to soften and cause diseases.

3. Leaf damage. If the leaves are damaged during the maintenance process, whether it is caused by accidental impact or insect pests, the wound will be invaded by other bacteria, causing the leaves to soften and rot.

4. Diseases. Diseases can also cause leaves to become soft. The most common disease is wilt, which mostly occurs because of wounds on the leaves of the plant.

Treatment method:

If it has become soft but not rotten, you can adjust the location where it is placed. If it has already rotted, remove the rotten part and then use drugs to sterilize it.

In daily care, try not to touch the leaves, and do not let the leaves be contaminated by fertilizer. If they are already contaminated, rinse them with clean water and then wipe dry.

In summer, the potting soil should be kept slightly dry, watering and fertilizing should be stopped, and the plants should be placed in a place with good air circulation. This can also reduce the invasion of diseases. When fertilizing during the growing period, you must pay attention to the ratio of fertilizers. You can buy special fertilizers and apply them according to the instructions.
