The difference between chrysanthemum and jade dew

The difference between chrysanthemum and jade dew

1. Differences in morphological characteristics

The chrysanthemum is very short and has a rosette-like appearance. In some cases, it grows in two rows, spirally, or cylindrically. The leaves are soft, short and swollen, with obvious veins. Although the appearance of the jade plant is also rosette-shaped, its leaves are smaller than those of the chrysanthemum. Although it also has obvious veins, they will turn brown when exposed to sufficient sunlight.

2. Different breeding methods

The propagation method of Chrysanthemum is relatively simple, mainly by division. As for jade plant, there are many methods of reproduction, mainly including division, cuttings, leaf cuttings, and sowing. It seems that growing jade plant is much simpler than growing chrysanthemum.

3. Differences in varieties

There is only one variety of Chrysanthemum, while there are many varieties of Gypsum. The varieties of Jade Dew include Purple Skin Jade Dew, Large Window Jade Dew, Jade Dew Longevity and Ice Lantern Jade Dew. The natural variants are even richer, including Emperor Jade Dew, Green Diamond, Red Crystal, Grass Crystal, Hairy Jade Dew and so on. Therefore, Gyokuro is more popular among people.

4. Planting Technology

From the perspective of planting techniques, Chrysanthemum indicum and Jade Dew are basically the same.

1. Lighting

They all love sunlight and need sufficient light time, but the light time should not be too long.

2. Moisture

In terms of water supply, the chrysanthemum is more drought-resistant than the jade plant, but both cannot tolerate drought for a long time. Add water appropriately to keep the soil in the pot slightly moist, but not too moist, as this will cause the roots and rhizomes to rot.

3. Humidity

The requirement of chrysanthemum for water is not high, while the jade plant prefers air with a certain humidity. What you can do is spray water mist around the plants when the air is dry, which can increase the humidity of the air. For jade plants that like humid air, we can cover the plants with transparent bottles to make the air humidity higher and more conducive to growth. But remember not to do this in the hot summer, as this will cause the plants to rot.
