When is the best time to transplant the money tree? What is the best month to transplant the money tree?

If you want potted flowers and plants to grow well, you need to transplant them. Money tree is no exception. This can keep the soil fertile and loose, and also allow the plant to grow better. Otherwise, the money tree will have various problems due to the small growing space and poor soil.

Transplanting time of money tree

The best time to transplant money trees is in spring , specifically in March and April . The temperature should be at least 20°C during transplanting. Transplanting should not be done in summer or winter, because the plants grow very slowly at this time and are not easy to recover after transplanting.

How to transplant money tree

1. Remove the pot and prune the roots

Stop watering the money tree before transplanting, so that it is easier to remove from the pot and avoid damaging the root system during the operation. After the plant is removed from the pot, remove some of the old soil to keep the root ball from falling apart. At the same time, cut off the old, rotten, and dead roots of the money tree.

2. Prepare the soil

Money tree likes slightly acidic soil with good air permeability and fertility. You can mix sandy river soil, garden soil and peat soil in a certain proportion as the culture soil. It should be disinfected before use to avoid bacteria and insect eggs.

3. Transplanting method

Choose a flower pot of suitable size, put a layer of gauze in the drainage hole at the bottom of the pot, and then spread a layer of culture soil. Put the money tree plant into the pot with one hand, straighten the position, and continue to fill the culture soil with the other hand and compact the soil.

Management of money tree after transplanting

1. Watering

After transplanting the Money Tree, do not water it immediately. Place it in semi-shaded place for about 12 hours to slow down the growth. Water it thoroughly once and wait for the soil to dry before watering it a second time. The Money Tree is drought-tolerant. Water it every day in summer and once every 3-4 days in autumn and winter.

2. Fertilization

Fertilization can be applied 15 days after the money tree is repotted . After the money tree is repotted, the plant will lose a large number of capillary root tubes, and some wounds will be left due to pruning. Fertilization cannot be applied immediately, otherwise the fertilizer will easily enter the wounds of the plant. Fertilization can be applied 2-3 times a month, using dilute urea .
