What to do if Milan leaves turn yellow

1. Increase lighting

Reason: Long-term lack of light may prevent Milan from producing synthetic chlorophyll, and without chlorophyll, its leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: Place Milan in a well-lit place indoors for maintenance. During this period, it is best to rotate the flower pot regularly to change the direction of light received by the plant so that it can receive light evenly. This will allow it to grow more evenly and prevent yellowing leaves.

2. Stop watering

Reason: Watering Milan too much or too frequently will cause water to accumulate in the soil. If it cannot be discharged in time, it will affect the roots' absorption of oxygen in the soil, thereby changing the breathing mode to anaerobic respiration, producing alcohol and causing root rot. Once the roots rot, it will not be able to absorb nutrients from the soil normally, and the leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: First stop watering, then move it to a well-ventilated place, and loosen the soil in the pot or replace it with new soil without water. Wait until the soil is dry before watering again.

3. Water with acidic water

Reason: Milan is a flower that likes acidic soil. If it is frequently watered with alkaline water, it will also have yellow leaves.

Solution: Use alum fertilizer water to water 3-5 times a year, or add one or two drops of salt-free vinegar to the water before watering. When you change the soil later, replace it with acidic soil.
