Division

Using this method, it can basically be done every three years. Try to choose spring or autumn as the time when they grow best and the temperature and other conditions are just right. Summer and winter may be their dormant period, and even if they are well divided, they will not grow better than in spring and autumn.

The pseudobulbs you choose must be healthy and disease-free. This is a simple principle and will not affect the growth of the young plants. Each cluster should have four or five pseudobulbs connected together. Before dividing the plants, reduce the amount of water to ensure the soil is dry.

When potting, be sure to put the broken tiles or bricks at the bottom, then put some coarse and fine soil on top, and finally some sandy soil rich in humus. The depth should not be too deep, it should be the depth that they can just be transplanted into the soil, but don't forget to leave about 2 cm of height without soil on the edge of the pot. After watering thoroughly, place it in a cool place for half a month, then you can slowly reduce the amount of water and maintain it normally.

sowing

Friends who do not have the conditions for division can choose this method. However, this method is time-consuming and requires at least half a year. Therefore, if you have the conditions to divide the plant, try not to choose this method. Their seeds are thin and small, with little chance of germination, and the seed coat has very poor water absorption capacity, so we can only choose artificial culture media to provide them with nutrients.

Choose fruits that have not yet cracked, and after thorough sterilization, soak them in sodium hypochlorite for a short period of time, and rinse them with water free of people and bacteria. Now you can sow them into culture bottles. If the surrounding temperature is maintained at 25°C, they can be transplanted and cultured under light as soon as they sprout. In this way, they can be used as protocorms.
