Why do gardenia leaves turn yellow?

Why do gardenia leaves turn yellow?

1. Improper watering

Reason: Watering gardenia too much or too little will affect the normal growth of the plant. If the plant grows in a waterlogged or too dry environment for a long time, the root system will not be able to absorb nutrients and water normally, and the leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: If there is a lack of water, just water it a little and spray water on the leaves appropriately every day to keep it moist without water accumulation. If there is water accumulation in the potting soil, remove it from the pot and place it in a cool place for maintenance. Control the amount of watering at ordinary times, and take drainage measures in time if water accumulates.

2. Adjust the temperature

Reason: If the temperature of the breeding environment is too low, the plant will be frozen and its leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: Raise the temperature when the temperature is relatively low, and try to keep the plant indoors in winter to avoid cold wind blowing directly on the plant. In addition, you should also keep warm at night in early spring.

3. Reasonable lighting

Reason: When caring for gardenia, if it is exposed to strong light for a long time, the leaves will be burned and turn yellow. On the contrary, growing in a dark environment for a long time will cause the leaves to turn yellow and even fall off.

Solution: When the sun is strong in the summer, you should provide shade to avoid direct sunlight, or place it in a cool place for maintenance. For normal maintenance, just ensure there is sufficient scattered light.
