What to do if the leaves of gardenia turn yellow and dry

What to do if the leaves of gardenia turn yellow and dry

1. Reduce watering

Reason: If you water gardenia too much, its young leaves will become dull and grow slowly. The old leaves will turn yellow and gradually wither.

Solution: Remove the flowers from the pots and move them to a dark and ventilated place. Put them back into the pots after the soil is dry. Pay attention to observe at ordinary times. If you find that the leaves are slightly dry and withered, the old leaves are yellowing or even falling off, and there is nothing unusual about the new leaves, this is a sign of water shortage and you should water it enough.

2. Moderate light

Reason: Too much or too little light can cause the leaves to turn yellow and dry. If exposed to direct strong sunlight for a long time, the leaves will have yellow spots and will dry up over time. However, if placed in a cool place for a long time without sunlight, the leaves will fall off due to lack of light.

Solution: If exposed to strong light for a long time, move it to a cool and ventilated place in time. If the light is weak, take it out and expose it to the sun in the evening when the sunlight is weak. It is recommended to grow it near a window.

3. Reasonable fertilization

Reason: If the concentration of fertilizer applied when planting gardenias is too high, it will cause the new leaves to turn yellow, the leaf surface to be uneven and dull, and the old leaves to wither and fall off.
