The causes and treatments of yellow leaves of bamboo orchid

The causes and treatments of yellow leaves of bamboo orchid

1. Temperature issues

Reason: Bamboo leaf orchid is suitable for growing in a relatively warm environment. If the temperature is too high, it will stunt its growth. If the temperature is too low, such as in winter, it must be moved indoors because it is not cold-resistant. Both of these situations will cause yellowing and falling leaves.

Measures: The suitable growth temperature of Bamboo Leaf Orchid is 15-30 degrees. If the temperature for its growth is too high, it is necessary to provide shade and cool down. If it is too low, move it to an environment with a temperature above 15 degrees.

2. Too much light

Reason: Bamboo leaf orchid prefers shade and cannot accept direct sunlight, nor can it be placed in a sunny place for too long. If the light is too strong, the leaves will turn yellow.

Measures: After the leaves are burned and turned yellow, they should be moved to a cooler place with scattered light in time, avoiding direct sunlight. But the sunlight in winter is not strong, so there is no need for shading.

3. Too much water

Reason: The root system of Bamboo Leaf Orchid is quite special and fleshy. If you water too much and water accumulates, it will affect root growth and cause yellow leaves.

Measures: If yellow leaves are caused by waterlogging, you need to remove the plant from the pot, trim the damaged roots, and then replant it. For daily watering, just keep the soil in the pot moist and control the amount of water.

4. Insufficient nutrients

Reason: The growth of bamboo orchid requires sufficient fertilizer to provide sufficient nutrients. Without enough nutrients, growth will slow down, and over time the leaves will turn yellow and then fall off.

Measures: During the growing period, it is necessary to apply foliar fertilizer to the bamboo orchid once every ten days. Spraying fertilizer on the leaves allows them to absorb nutrients from the fertilizer through the leaves. When applying fertilizer, you must control the concentration, apply small amounts and multiple times. Once there is enough nutrients, the leaves will slowly recover.
