Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of Hoya

Causes and treatments of yellow leaves of Hoya

1. Too much light

1.Reason: Ball orchid likes soft and warm sunlight and cannot tolerate strong light environment. When cultivating it, avoid exposing it to the scorching sun for a long time. You can place it in a place where it can receive soft sunlight. Do not place it on the balcony where it is exposed to direct sunlight when the summer sun is strong. Otherwise, it may get sunburned and the leaves may turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: It needs to be moved away from a place with direct sunlight and placed in a place with diffuse light for cultivation. If there are leaves that are severely sunburned, they need to be cut off in time.

2. Excessive watering

1. Reason: It is more suitable for dry soil, and excessive watering is also one of the reasons for its yellow leaves. Because this will cause water accumulation in the soil, causing the roots to erode and be unable to absorb water from the soil normally, which will cause the leaves to turn yellow.

2. Treatment method: You need to dig it out with the soil, and use scissors to cut off the rotten roots and yellow leaves. Then move it to a well-ventilated location to dry the cut ends, and then transplant it into new well-drained humus soil.

3. Improper fertilization

1. Reason: When fertilizing it, it is necessary to use diluted thin fertilizer combining nitrogen and phosphorus, and the fertilizer applied cannot be too thick. Because too much fertilizer may cause the soil to become compacted, reduce soil permeability, and make the plant absorb fertilizer less efficiently, resulting in sluggish plant growth and yellowing leaves.

2. Treatment method: It needs to be dug out with the soil, and use scissors to cut off the rotten roots and yellow leaves. Then transplant it into a culture soil with good air permeability and medium to low fertility, and water the soil to moisten it.
