1. Leaf DifferenceThe leaves of the jewel flower are leathery, broadly obovate or fan-shaped, vaguely close to ovate, 1 to 2.5 cm long, 1 to 2 cm wide, rounded at the apex, wedge-shaped at the base, with fine rounded edges, light brown long soft hairs on the upper side, and grayish white or light brown cotton hairs underneath. The leaves of the Alocasia odora are arranged in a rosette shape. The leaves are flat and slender, with the tips gradually becoming pointed and the edges covered with short hairs. When there is sufficient light, the tips of the leaves will turn purple or brown. 2. Flower DifferencesThe jewel-flower has a cyme inflorescence, with 5 to 12 flowers in each inflorescence. The peduncle is 8 to 17 cm long. The corolla is tubular, blue or purple-blue, and 6.5 to 11 mm long. The flowers of the Alocasia odora are small, star-shaped, and pink in color. |
