Will Clivia sprout again after its heart rots?

Will Clivia sprout again after its heart rots?

1. Is it still sprouting?

The main reason for Clivia's heart rot is incorrect watering methods. Whether it can still germinate after the heart rot depends on how serious the disease is. If the rot is not very serious, the plant can still survive as long as remedial measures are taken in time. If you pay attention to maintenance in the later stage, it will sprout. If the heart is severely rotten, the possibility of saving it will be much smaller, but it is not completely impossible. The method used in this case is also different.

2. How to save

1. Slight heart rot: If only the center of the heart is rotten, the situation is not very serious. You can use a sterilized blade to remove the necrotic part, then move it to a cool and well-ventilated place. Do not water it. Let the soil in the pot gradually dry out. The situation will improve after a period of time. If the heart rot is not serious and only the leaves on both sides are rotten, then you should cut off the rotten leaves, absorb the excess water with clean toilet paper, put it in a dry environment, wait for the middle part to dry out, and then maintain it normally. New buds will grow after a while.

2. Severe heart rot: If the heart rot is severe, remove the leaves on the side with fewer leaves, expose the rotten bulb, and slowly remove it. Control watering within 2-3 days, then you can repot.
