Prevention and control of common diseases and pests of Phytolacca

Phytolacca aphid and its control

Aphids, commonly known as " sticky insects " , are insects that like to suck sap from the tender parts of plants and also like to " dine together " . Aphids come in many colors, but the most common one we see is green. The leaves of plants infested by aphids tend to turn yellow and are easily accompanied by sooty mold.

Phytolacca aphid control measures

If there is a large outbreak of aphids, you can use 1000 times diluted aphidicide and cypermethrin and spray it once every week. If there are fewer aphids, you can use a brush to sweep away the small insects.

The sharp-eyed fungus gnat and its control

Commonly known as "little black fly", plants harmed by it will become sluggish, have reduced immunity, and even be susceptible to fungal infection. Other diseases such as red star disease will follow.

Control measures for the sharp-eyed mushroom mosquito

During the cultivation process of Phytolacca americana, the cultivation medium must be as transparent as possible. Gravel can be mixed in, and a small amount of peat or soil can be added. Normally, the soil should be kept dry as much as possible and not kept wet for a long time.

Phytolacca root rot and its control

As the name suggests, root rot is caused by the infection of pathogens, which causes root rot. The plant's ability to absorb water and nutrients is weakened, and the above-ground part of the affected plant withers and becomes green and dead, eventually causing the death of the entire plant.

Prevention and control measures for Phytolacca root rot

Choose a well-drained plot for planting; drain water promptly during the rainy season; if necessary, use pentachloronitrobenzene to disinfect the soil.
