Disease prevention and control of pearl spider plant

Disease prevention and control of pearl spider plant

Dry branches and leaves

Pearl Chlorophytum rarely gets sick, and generally shows symptoms of dryness. This is because the temperature is relatively high, resulting in low humidity around it, which affects the growth of the Pearl Chlorophytum. Pearl Chlorophytum is suitable for growing in humid places, so avoid exposure to the sun. Once the surrounding air becomes relatively dry, we need to spray water mist around. If the temperature exceeds 30 degrees, the Pearl Chlorophytum will become dry. So we have to put it in a semi-shaded place, trim the dry branches and leaves, and it will slowly recover.

Black leaf tips

If the soil becomes compacted or sticky and you water it too often, the fibrous roots of the pearl plant will be affected, and the roots will not be able to absorb water normally, causing the leaf tips to turn black. When this happens, we need to take the pearl spider plant out of the pot, cut off the bad fibrous roots, replace the pot with sand, and water it appropriately so that the pearl spider plant can grow new fibrous roots.

Plant shrinkage

If you don't change the soil of the Pearl Plant for a long time, it will cause a series of problems. The roots of the Pearl Plant will grow close to the wall of the pot. When encountering high temperature and cold weather, the roots will be easily damaged. The branches and leaves will shrink if they cannot get nutrients. In this case, you need to move it out of the pot, trim the damaged roots and branches, replace it with nutritious soil, place it in a cool place and water it on time to recover.
