What to do if the leaves of the fortune tree turn white

What to do if the leaves of the fortune tree turn white

1. Disease problem

(1) Specific reasons: Powdery mildew is one of the major threats plaguing this plant. This is a fungal disease. When the disease occurs, some small spots appear at first. Then, it will slowly develop into a white mold layer and appear powdery. It looks like the leaves have turned white. Generally speaking, the lower leaves are more likely to get sick than the upper leaves, and the back side is more likely to get sick than the front side. If so, then you probably have the disease.

(2) Solution: First, cut off the leaves that have been infected and dispose of them properly. Afterwards, clean the surrounding environment and it is best to disinfect it. Then, you can spray some medicine to treat the disease, such as carbendazim and other liquid medicines. The main thing to pay attention to in future maintenance is water. Don't add too much, and it's best to water from the edge of the pot. In addition, ventilation is also important.

2. Pest problems

(1) Specific reason: There is a kind of insect called "blowing cotton scale". It is white, and if it is infested with this kind of insect, the leaves will appear whitish.

(2) Solution: Similar to the treatment of diseases, remove the diseased leaves. Then spray medicine, such as omethoate. In addition, biological methods can also be used, such as releasing some ladybugs.

3. Exposure to the sun

(1) Specific reasons: Sometimes, after being exposed to the sun for a long time, some leaves are sunburned. Then, whitening of leaves may also occur, which is also possible.

(2) Solution: It is best to place it in a place with scattered light and avoid direct sunlight. At the same time, pay attention to ventilation.
