The succulents in your home die easily, but other people’s succulents bloom in 5 pots. What’s going on?

The succulents in your home die easily, but other people’s succulents bloom in 5 pots. What’s going on?

High temperatures lead to death from sweltering

The temperature has been rising recently. Although it is not particularly hot in Qingdao where Huahua lives, the temperature has soared to around 35℃ for many flower lovers in the south. If you are not careful at this time, the succulents in your home will be sunburned to death!

Countermeasures:

1. If it is only slightly exposed to the sun, put the succulent in a cool and ventilated place indoors for a few days, or blow a small fan on it to cool down the soil as soon as possible, and it will basically recover. If you are completely dehydrated by the sun, there is no hope!

2. Flower lovers who grow flowers on the south balcony should put up the shade net in time to prevent the succulents in their home from being burned by the sun; and flower lovers who grow flowers in the yard should also put up the shade net in time.

Too much water and death

Succulents are super drought-resistant. Even in the hot summer, the amount of watering should be reduced. Not to mention that some succulents will go dormant or semi-dormant in the summer. If you put a pot of water in it at this time, it will definitely melt!

Countermeasures:

1. If you find that the succulents in your home are waterlogging in time, use tweezers to quickly remove the waterlogged leaves, and then place the succulents in a cool and ventilated place to allow the accumulated water in the pot to evaporate as soon as possible.

2. If the waterlogging is particularly severe, to the point where almost the entire plant is waterlogged, then this succulent plant is basically hopeless.

Lack of ventilation leads to black rot and death

The weather is hot in summer. If the succulents in your home are always kept in an unventilated place, it is like giving them a steam sauna. Black rot will definitely occur over time!

Countermeasures:

Slight black rot:

If the black rot of the succulent plants in your home is not particularly serious and only a few leaves are black rotted, then quickly pick off the black rotted leaves to prevent the disease from spreading further.

Some black rot:

1. If the black rot is particularly serious, but there is no problem with the root system, then behead the succulent, cut off the healthy succulent heads, and place them in a cool and ventilated place to dry.

2. Cut off all the parts of the succulent stems with black rot, until all the black rot is cut off, then apply some carbendazim powder on the wound.

3. Place the cut succulent heads in loose and breathable soil for cuttings so that they can take root again; and the healthy succulent stems left behind can slowly produce several new succulent heads!

Severe black rot:

1. If not only the stems of succulents are black rotted, but the roots are also black rotted, then dig the black rotted succulents out of the flowerpot and clean the soil around the roots.

2. Prepare a pair of sterilized scissors and separate the jade butterfly cubs completely to avoid bacterial infection that might infect all the cubs.

3. Use sterilized scissors to directly cut off the black rot stems of the Jade Butterfly Plant, and keep cutting until there is no black rot on the entire cut surface. Then apply some carbendazim powder and place it in a cool and ventilated place.

4. If the black-rotten stems and roots are completely black-rotten, they should be discarded directly outside and can no longer be used.

5. In order to increase the survival rate of Jade Butterfly, you can plant it in water to root it and place it in a cool and ventilated place. It only takes about 20 days for the hydroponic Jade Butterfly to take root!

6. After taking root, prepare loose and breathable soil and transplant the Jade Butterfly into a pot. Soon you will have another pot of Jade Butterfly!

That’s all for today’s introduction to Huahua.
