What to do if the leaves of Christmas cactus become thinner

What to do if the leaves of Christmas cactus become thinner

1. Proper watering

Reason: Watering Christmas cactus too much will affect the normal breathing of the plant's roots. After the roots rot, the leaves will become thinner because they cannot absorb nutrients and water.

Solution: If you water too much, you need to loosen the soil and then place it in a cool place for maintenance. Don’t water too often, once a week is enough.

2. Reasonable lighting

Reason: If the Christmas cactus is not exposed to light for a long time, it will not be able to carry out photosynthesis and its leaves will become thinner and soft.

Solution: Make sure it gets 4-6 hours of sunlight every day and don't let it grow in the shade for a long time. If you grow it indoors, place it in a sunny place. Sufficient light can make the leaves fuller.

3. Increase fertilizer application

Reason: During the maintenance process, if it is not supplemented with nutrients for a long time, the plant will be in a state of slow growth and the leaves will become very thin and weak.

Solution: As long as there are sufficient nutrients, the leaves will be fuller. Normally, fertilizer should be applied every 15 days. You can also apply fully decomposed rice water or diluted beer.

4. Adjust the temperature

Reason: Christmas cactus likes to grow in a warm environment. If the temperature is too low, it will affect its normal growth and the leaves will become thinner.

Solution: When the temperature is relatively low, keep it indoors and provide it with a growth environment of 20°C. The appropriate growth temperature will allow the leaves to return to normal.
