What to do if Desert Rose has a soft stomach

What to do if Desert Rose has a soft stomach

1. Repotting

1. Reason: Its volume is generally not very large. If the planting pot is too large, many problems will arise. If the pot is too big and too deep, the plant cannot be planted to the bottom, and a lot of water cannot be absorbed at the bottom. If there is water accumulation, its belly will become soft.

2. Solution: When planting it, try to choose a small and shallow pot. This kind of pot will not have water accumulation. Even if you water it too much at one time, it will be dried out by the sun and will not directly affect the health of the desert rose. Generally speaking, choose one that is twice as large as its roots.

2. Change the soil

1. Reason: The soil that Desert Rose grows in cannot be fertile and moist, because it is a desert-type plant, and too moist soil will cause its belly to become soft.

2. Solution: The soil for growing desert roses must be air-permeable and water-free, so choose river sand and general soil in a ratio of six to four. In order to increase air permeability, you can put some river pebbles or expanded clay at the bottom of the soil.

3. Stop watering

1. Reason: Desert rose is a drought-tolerant plant. Too much watering is not good for it, as it will affect its health and cause it to become soft.

2. Solution: When raising this kind of drought-tolerant plant, there is one thing you need to pay attention to when watering. That is, the soil in the pot and the branches and leaves must be completely dry before watering, otherwise the roots will rot. Generally speaking, watering two or three times a month is enough during the growing season, and once a month is enough at other times.
