Methods and techniques for growing eggplant

1. Choose the variety

Before planting eggplant, you need to choose the variety first. Choose different types of varieties according to requirements. It is best to choose varieties with higher quality and less pests, so that the cultivated plants will have a higher yield. After selecting the variety, you can prepare the seeds. You should choose seeds that are plump and free of pests and diseases.

2. Seed Processing

The seeds cannot be planted directly after selection. Instead, they can be soaked in a 1% potassium permanganate solution for about 30 minutes. This will disinfect them, and then they can be soaked in warm water for a whole day. After soaking, you can take out the seeds, then rub off the outer seed coat with fine sand, wrap them in moist gauze to promote seedling growth, maintain the temperature at around 25~30 degrees Celsius, and wait for about 5-6 days for them to germinate.

3. Soil Selection

The soil for planting should be selected carefully. You can mix garden soil with organic fertilizer, stir it evenly, and then level the soil before use.

4. Start sowing

Level the soil, then spread the seeds evenly on it, cover it with a thin layer of soil, then level the soil and water it thoroughly to promote seed germination. After the seedlings have grown roots and are growing stably, they can be transplanted and topdressed in time.
