Why are the buds of the wood chrysanthemum falling off?

Why are the buds of the wood chrysanthemum falling off?

1. The temperature is too high

Reason: Wood chrysanthemum grows best in an environment between 10-25℃. High temperature can easily burn the plant and cause the flower buds to fall.

Solution: Place the wood chrysanthemum in a cool place. Since it is a short-day plant, it can be grown in the shade as long as it is placed in the sun in the morning and evening. In addition, you can also cool down by spraying water. Put clean water in a spray bottle and spray it on the leaves of the plant.

2. Water accumulation in the pot soil

Reason: Waterlogged soil in the pot can easily flood the roots, making it impossible for them to breathe. It will also breed bacteria, cause lesions, and cause flower buds to fall.

Solution: Waterlogging in potting soil is often caused by excessive watering or rain during the rainy season. The accumulated water should be drained as soon as possible, and the plant should be taken out of the pot to check whether the roots are rotten. After cutting off the rotten roots, the plant should be replanted with dry soil. When watering, control the amount of water. Water once a day, not too much. In the rainy season, move it indoors to avoid getting wet.

3. Excessive fertilization

Reason: Too much or too concentrated fertilizer will burn the roots, making it impossible to provide nutrients to the flower buds, causing them to fall.

Solution: Take the wood chrysanthemum out of the pot, wash off the soil at the roots with clean water, and if there are rotten roots, cut them off in time. Soak it in carbendazim and replant it in new soil. Don't apply too much fertilizer, just apply thin liquid fertilizer once a week.

4. Pest and disease attacks

Cause: Pests and diseases can cause poor growth of wood chrysanthemums, causing the flower buds to fall off.

Solution: For different diseases and insect pests, corresponding pesticides need to be sprayed. Common diseases include leaf spot and rust, which can be controlled by spraying diluted mancozeb solution. The main pests are aphids, loopers and leaf rollers, which can be killed by diluting omethoate and spraying.
