The reason why the leaves of the Venus flytrap are black in summer

The reason why the leaves of the Venus flytrap are black in summer

1. The temperature is too high

The Venus flytrap likes to grow in a warm and suitable environment, and grows better at a suitable temperature. However, the temperature in summer is relatively high. If the temperature in the growing environment is too high, it will cause black leaves. It is recommended to control the temperature between 15 and 25 degrees. You can spray water to cool it down, or increase ventilation. Air circulation can help lower the temperature.

2. Direct sunlight

The sun is very strong in the summer. If the plants are exposed to direct sunlight, they may be burned, become dehydrated and dry, and eventually cause the leaves to turn black. To give it a more comfortable environment, first cut off the black leaves, and then place it in a suitable position, away from direct sunlight, and place it in a place with bright scattered light.

3. Indigestion

In the summer, there are more mosquitoes. If you feed the Venus flytrap too much, it will cause indigestion. Many of them will be difficult to convert into nutrients, causing overnutrition, which will also cause the Venus flytrap's leaves to turn black. Normally, it can catch mosquitoes and provide nutrients to supplement its growth, so it does not need to be fed too much.

4. Excessive water

Although the temperature is higher at this time and more water is needed, you should also pay attention to the amount. If you give too much water, it will cause black leaves. You need to reduce watering and place it in a ventilated place to promote water evaporation.
