How to grow cabbage on the balcony

Sowing method

Cabbage is an extremely cold-resistant crop and can be grown in many places. Before sowing, you need to soak the seeds in boiling water, and then soak them in warm water again. After about two or three hours, you can wrap the seeds with gauze and cultivate them at room temperature. After the seeds sprout, you can sow them in the flowerpot. The soil for sowing should have good air permeability and drainage.

Management methods

temperature

Cabbage seedlings have different temperature requirements during their growth period. In the early stage of seedling growth, the temperature needs to be controlled within the range of about 20 degrees; before the seedlings are transplanted, the temperature can be kept at about 15 degrees. As winter approaches, it is necessary to control the growth of seedlings and keep the temperature in the most suitable range for growth. Too high a temperature will easily cause the seedlings to become larger, which is not conducive to wintering. Too low a temperature will cause poor growth of the seedlings.

Fertilizer

Water the cabbage sparingly until it starts to form balls. When the plant starts to form balls, in order to make it grow faster, you can increase the amount of watering and the frequency of watering, and mix organic fertilizer for irrigation during watering.

Other Management

When planting cabbage in spring, you must prevent the seedlings from bolting prematurely; when planting in autumn, you must choose a time period suitable for cabbage growth, so that it will grow faster. During the growth period, pay attention to controlling the amount of application to avoid the crazy growth of the seat leaves, prevent the rapid growth of the leaf balls caused by excessive nutrition, and enter the heading period.
