1. Planting time

Loofah can be planted all year round, and the planting time is different in different seasons.

1. Spring: The temperature rises differently in the north and south. The temperature in the south rises faster and the weather is warmer, so planting can begin in February. However, in the north, the climate is relatively cold and the temperature rises slowly, so planting can only be done around the Qingming Festival, which is around April.

2. Summer: The planting time in summer is not fixed and needs to be determined according to local weather conditions. The climate is warm during this period, so it can be planted from late April to early July. It will mature in 2-3 months and can be put on the market for consumption from June to October.

3. Autumn: The climate in autumn after summer is cooler, which is very suitable for planting. The best time is from August to September. Note that the seeds need to be soaked to germinate before sowing.

4. Winter: Because the climate is cold in winter, it is difficult to grow outdoors. It must be planted in a greenhouse around November and will be mature and harvested in February or March of the following year.

2. Precautions

The varieties selected for planting in different seasons are different. When planting in autumn and winter, you should choose cold-resistant varieties to prevent frostbite. In summer, you should not only choose heat-resistant varieties, but also pay attention to proper shade.
