Daily management methods and precautions for hydroponic plants

Daily management methods and precautions for hydroponic plants

1. Temperature

The best temperature for hydroponic plant growth is 5-30℃. When the temperature exceeds 35℃, most plants enter a dormant state and you need to stop spraying water. Chongqing is hot in summer, so outdoor hydroponic plants need to be moved indoors to cool down.

2. Light

It is the natural light coming in from the window. In summer, you should avoid direct sunlight, and it is best to use scattered light. What is scattered light? It is the natural light that comes in from windows and other places and is naturally scattered indoors. Generally speaking, plants only need appropriate light to grow, and they don’t necessarily need sunlight;

3. Nutrient solution

It is not advisable to add nutrient solution immediately to plants that have just been hydroponically grown. They should be kept in clean water for 10-15 days. After the plants have adapted to the hydroponic environment, special nutrient solution for hydroponics can be added.

4. Change the water

Generally speaking, change the water every 5-10 days in spring and autumn; every 5 days in summer; and every 10-15 days in winter. When changing water, be sure to leave half or one-third of the plant's roots exposed.

5. Cleanliness and hygiene

Every time you change the water, rinse the roots of the plants and the container with clean water, and remove dead branches, leaves and rotten roots to avoid polluting the hydroponic environment.

6. Moisturizing and keeping warm

When the climate is dry, sprinkle clean water on the leaves to maintain humidity. You can choose a small spray bottle to spray water, preferably twice a day. When the indoor temperature is below 5℃, pay attention to keeping the plants warm.
