Cultivation methods, precautions and watering of Tiger Pilan

Tiger Piran is native to western Africa and southern Asia. Its leaves are firm and upright, with white and green stripes on the leaves. It has high ornamental value and is suitable for home display. Below I will introduce to you the cultivation methods, precautions and watering of Sansevieria.

1. Soil

Tiger Piranha is not very demanding on the soil, but it is best to choose soil with good drainage, such as a mixture of leaf mold and some sand.

2. Lighting

Tiger Piranha likes sunlight, but not direct sunlight. Give it a semi-shaded environment and let it enjoy soft diffuse light so that it can grow tall and strong. The sunlight is too strong at noon in summer, so it should be shielded to a certain extent. When placed indoors, it should be placed near a window.

3. Temperature

Tiger Piranha likes warmth, and the suitable growth temperature is 18-30℃. It will stop growing if the temperature is lower than 8℃.

4. Fertilization

Tiger Piranha does not need too much fertilizer . During the growing season, you can apply a small amount of compound fertilizer to promote its better growth. Please note that it is best not to apply fertilizer from November to March of the following year. After winter, apply fertilizer in spring depending on the situation.

5. Pruning

When the Sansevieria pot is fully grown, it is necessary to carry out manual pruning, mainly by cutting off old leaves and overly lush leaves to ensure its sunlight and growth space.

6. Notes

Sansevieria may be placed in the living room, desk, or other places with less sunlight. In this case, it is not advisable to move the plant to the sun suddenly. It should be moved gradually to a place with better light, allow it to adapt, and then expose it to the sun to avoid burning the leaves.

The main diseases of Sansevieria include leaf spot, rot, bacterial soft rot, anthracnose, etc., and the pests include scale insects and mites. When pests and diseases occur, you can use plant essential oils or fungicides to spray for prevention and control.

7. Watering precautions

Tiger Piranha is relatively drought-tolerant. Moreover, its root system is not well developed, so water it thoroughly when the soil is dry. Don't water the Tiger Pira plant too frequently. The soil must be breathable. If the soil is not breathable, the Tiger Pira plant's roots will rot if you water it too much.

When watering snake plants in spring and autumn, you can water them more often because they grow faster and require more water.

The weather is hotter in summer and the evaporation is greater. You can water more appropriately. Place it near a window for ventilation as much as possible. In winter, when the Sansevieria is in a dormant state, you need to control the watering. Water it once every one or two months, or it is okay not to water it for the entire winter.
