The Legend of Narcissus

The Legend of Narcissus

legend

Legend 1: Narcissus is the goddess of Luo River, and some say it is the incarnation of the god of Xiang. They are all daughters of the ancient sages Fuxi or Yao, and are moral role models for women. Based on this, our ancestors wrote countless poems praising daffodils. The most profound and detailed ones are "The Goddess of the Luo River" by Cao Cao's son Cao Zhi, and "Ode to the Narcissus" by Gao Sisun of the Song Dynasty and Hou Bin.

Legend 2: There was a kind peasant woman in Yuanshan, Fujian, who saved a starving beggar. The beggar was originally a god. He sprayed the food he ate all around the house, and later golden and silver daffodils grew. The farmers there became rich by doing this business.

Legend three: From ancient Greek mythology: Anyone who is unfaithful to love will be punished by the goddess of vengeance, who will make him die in water and turn into daffodil. Therefore, the literal translation of the name of Narcissus in the West is "Love Shadow Flower".

Flower Language

There are two interpretations of the Chinese language of daffodil: one is "purity", or "pure love", which is used exclusively for women to praise their moral character. The second is "auspicious", which is used for relatives, friends and their families. The meaning of giving daffodils is to praise your good heart and good luck, and to wish you good luck and everything goes well.

The language of daffodils in the West is similar to that in my country, which is "faithful love".
