When do dahlias bloom?

When do dahlias bloom?

1. When does it bloom?

Usually, most of the outdoor plants bloom in two time periods, from May to June and from September to November. It basically does not bloom in the summer because the temperature is high at this time, which will cause it to enter a dormant period, so it will not bloom.

If you are in the south, the normal flowering time is from February to June. That is, it will start to bloom from spring. Therefore, the flowering time sometimes depends on the climate.

No matter what month it is, we can see that its flowering period is extremely long. It can bloom continuously from autumn to spring, and each flower can last for a month. The flowering period is nearly half a year. Anyone will fall in love with it.

2. How to make it bloom as soon as possible

1. Adequate lighting

Whether you plant it in a pot or outdoors, you must give it enough sunlight. Especially for potted plants, this point must be done well. When caring for it, do not always keep it indoors, but move it to a sunny place frequently to dry it. This will help it bloom earlier and prolong the flowering time. Although it likes sunlight very much, it needs to be properly shaded in summer because the light is too strong and can easily cause it to hibernate.

2. Suitable temperature

It is usually afraid of cold. In other words, it prefers a warmer place. If the temperature can be controlled between 15 and 25 degrees during normal maintenance, it will grow better and bloom earlier, because the temperature within this range is most suitable for its growth. But it must not exceed 32 degrees, because once it exceeds this, it will stop growing and affect flowering.

3. Notes

After we understand its flowering period, we should know that one period is in summer. Then you need to be careful at this time. Because summer is a season with high temperature and much rainfall, if you plant it outdoors, you must provide it with shade and shelter from rain in time, otherwise the roots will easily rot.
