When does Anthurium bloom?

When does Anthurium bloom?

1. When will flowers appear?

Generally speaking, this kind of plant will bloom after one year of cultivation. Its flowers are very unique, very gorgeous and beautiful, and they can bloom for a long time and can bloom all year round.

If it is grown in water, it can live for a long time. In this way, its flowering period is one month. If it is planted in the soil, its flowering period can be four to six months.

It likes warm areas with water and diffuse light. It needs an environment of 22-30 degrees to grow and bloom, and it is best to be above ten degrees in winter. If the temperature exceeds 35 degrees in summer, the number of flowers will decrease. Once it exceeds 25 degrees, measures should be taken to place it in a windy and ventilated area.

In spring, summer and autumn, you need to shade it from some sunlight. It only needs 70% of light at most. Don't expose it directly in the sun. In winter, it should be placed in a sunny area of the home. It likes humid places with 70-80% humidity. There should not be too much water in the pot, but it must be moist. The soil should be slightly acidic, within the range of 4.5-5.0. If it is very dry, the leaves should be watered twice a day.

2. How to promote flowering

1. Try to add less nitrogen fertilizer and more phosphorus and potassium fertilizer to make it bloom faster. Phosphorus is a very important substance that can help the growth of flowers, fruits and seeds. If there is insufficient phosphorus, it cannot grow flower buds and of course cannot bloom. If it has not grown flower buds by the time of flowering, you can bury compound fertilizer or other fertilizers high in phosphorus and potassium in the soil.

2. There must be sufficient light to help the flower buds grow. If it is placed in a dark place all year round, it will not be able to produce nutrients and the flower buds will not be able to grow. You can move it outdoors to get more sunlight to help it produce nutrients for growth and flowering.

3. One month before flowering, the soil should be kept dry to facilitate the growth of flower buds. If you always water too much, it is easy to have no flowers. Therefore, water should be controlled before it blooms. Only by creating suitable conditions for it can it bloom.
