How to propagate Tiger Pilan and what to pay attention to

How to breed tiger lily

Sansevieria can be propagated by division, sowing, and cuttings. Sansevieria seeds can be propagated, and its natural reproduction method relies on seed propagation. Its cuttings are the fastest way to propagate.

Tiger Piranha breeding time

Tiger Piranha can be propagated in spring, summer and autumn, but it should be avoided in winter as the temperature will be too low and it will be difficult for it to survive, which may cause frostbite to the plant.

Propagation of Tiger Pilan

As long as the temperature is right, Sansevieria can be propagated by division throughout the year. The temperature should be between 15-20 degrees, and spring and summer are the most suitable seasons. Division can be carried out in spring in combination with repotting. Choose loose, fertile, and well-permeable sandy culture soil in advance.

First, remove the snake plant from the pot, trim the roots, and divide the plant into several clumps. Keep 3 leaves in each clump. Apply wood ash on the cut, place it in a ventilated place to dry, and then pot it. Water it thoroughly once and place it in a cool place for 2-3 days to adapt to the environment, and then maintain it normally.

Cutting propagation of Sansevieria

When the maintenance temperature is 15-25 degrees, Sansevieria can be propagated by cuttings. Choose mature leaves that are one year old or older, about 8 cm in length. After drying in the shade for 1-2 days, insert them upright in clean river sand at a depth of 3 cm. After about 30 days, adventitious roots will grow and many new buds will grow at the base.

Seed propagation of tiger lily

It is generally difficult for Sansevieria to produce seeds and requires artificial pollination, which is usually carried out in May. The seeds mature about 70 days after pollination. They are sown in late September of the same year and seedlings emerge after 30 days, with an emergence rate of more than 40%.

Leaf cutting propagation of tiger lily

Select healthy and strong snake plant leaves with a length of 6-7 cm, dry the wound and set aside, then insert it into loose and fertile soil with good air permeability and drainage. When cutting, the bottom is facing down, water the soil appropriately, and maintain it in a dark place. It will take about one month for the roots to survive.

Hydroponic snake plant breeding

Select relatively sturdy snake plant leaves, about 10 cm in length, and place them in a well-ventilated place to dry for 3-5 days. Find a small flowerpot or bucket without holes, fill it with water 3-5 cm deep, and place the leaves against the edge of the pot.

Precautions for breeding of tiger lily

The soil for Sansevieria can be made of leaf mold and river sand. Water it when the soil is dry and wet, especially in the seedling stage. Watering should be controlled. It should be kept in a well-ventilated sunny place. Shade should be provided in summer and it can be moved indoors for maintenance in winter. Apply a thin liquid fertilizer combining nitrogen and phosphorus once every half a month during the growth period.
