Does the money tree bloom? What does the flower look like?

1. Will it bloom?

The money tree blooms. As a plant of the Araceae family, it has a unique spathe that is green in color and boat-shaped. Its flowers are spadixes, which are relatively short but very thick. After they grow out, the flower buds will curl up, and the overall ornamental value is not very high.

2. How to bloom

1. Adequate light: Money tree is shade-tolerant and very afraid of direct sunlight, but this does not mean that there is no light at all. Only sufficient light can promote the differentiation of flower buds. Normally, you should place it in a bright place to receive sufficient scattered light. In winter, you can put it in the sun to supplement the light and increase the temperature.

2. Suitable temperature: Money tree likes a warm environment. Temperatures that are too high or too low will affect the flowering of the plant. If the temperature is higher than 35℃, you need to spray water to cool it down and maintain good ventilation. If the temperature is below 10℃, you need to put it in a warm place. When the temperature remains at 20-32℃, the plants are more likely to bloom.

3. Proper water control: The money tree itself does not require a lot of water. If the water is properly controlled, it can also promote flowering. Normally, the soil should be kept slightly dry but with a little moisture. During the water control period, the watering interval should be extended to allow the soil to dry for a longer time, but water should not be completely cut off, otherwise the leaves will easily turn yellow.

4. Add fertilizer: In order to make the money tree bloom better, you can add some fertilizer to it. Generally, after buds appear, you need to apply some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers, which can effectively promote flowering. The amount of nitrogen fertilizer needs to be controlled during the growing period. Applying too much will cause the plant to grow too tall and will be detrimental to its flowering.
