Polygonatum sibiricum is a plant of the Liliales, Liliaceae, and Polygonatum genus. It is also called chicken-head polygonatum, yellow chicken vegetable, pen tube vegetable, claw ginseng, tiger ginger, and chicken claw ginseng.

Polygonatum sibiricum can be used as medicine, and has the effects of tonifying the spleen, moistening the lungs and promoting body fluid. There are many types of Polygonatum sibiricum, depending on the growing environment, leaf shape, flower color, etc., including Polygonatum sibiricum, Rehe Polygonatum sibiricum, Yunnan Polygonatum sibiricum, and Curly Leaf Polygonatum sibiricum.

Polygonatum sibiricum likes a cool and humid environment. It is shade-loving, cold-resistant and afraid of drought. It grows poorly in dry soil, but grows well in a moist and semi-shady environment. Suitable areas for growing Polygonatum

During its growth process, Polygonatum sibiricum needs shade and a moist environment. It grows well in areas with concentrated rainfall and is commonly found in thickets, forest edges, ditch edges and shady hillsides. It is produced in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Gansu (east), Henan, Shandong, Anhui (east), and Zhejiang (northwest).

Planting time

The best time to plant Polygonatum sibiricum is in March. Prepare the soil in advance, dig holes with a row spacing of 25 cm and a plant spacing of 15-20 cm, with a depth of about 10 cm, then apply soil and fertilizer, and plant one seedling in each hole. Cover and compact the soil, and water it thoroughly. Water it once every 3-5 days after planting to ensure faster survival.
