How to remedy the yellowing and drying of the tips of Mo Lan’s leaves?

Molan is a very famous orchid variety. Compared with other orchid varieties, its flower color is unique and very noble and elegant. What can I do if the tips of the leaves of my Mo Orchid turn yellow and dry? Let’s learn more about it below.

1. Change the soil

When planting Mo Lan, soil compaction will cause the plant to be unable to absorb sufficient nutrients, causing the leaf tips to turn yellow and dry. You can change the soil at this time and choose a fertile, loose, humus-rich and well-drained slightly acidic soil. In the summer when the temperature is high and the weather is hot and humid, it is recommended to choose a sand pot with holes at the bottom for planting.

2. Shade

Mo Lan is a flower that is not resistant to the sun. Too strong light will severely burn the leaves, causing them to dry and turn yellow. Therefore, it is necessary to provide shade and avoid continuous exposure of the Mo Lan to strong light to better promote the growth of the plant and allow the leaves to gradually regain vitality and turn from withered yellow to normal green.

3. Watering

The yellowing and drying of the tips of Mo Orchid's leaves may be caused by lack of water. Mo Orchid likes a humid growing environment, and sufficient water can promote the growth of the entire plant. Once the soil is too dry, the roots cannot absorb enough water to supply leaf development, and the plants will gradually wilt and turn yellow. At this time, you need to add water to moisten the soil, but don't water too much each time to avoid waterlogging in the soil and rotting the roots.

4. Move to a warm environment

If the tips of Mo Lan's leaves turn yellow and dry, move it to a warm environment for maintenance, and try to keep the temperature at around 18 degrees to avoid further frostbite on the plant due to low temperatures. In addition, ventilation measures should be taken to ensure smooth air circulation and enable the plants to quickly recover vitality.

5. Clean the soil

The yellowing and drying of the leaf tips of Mo Lan may also be caused by improper fertilization. If too much fertilizer is applied, there will be excess nutrients, which will cause root burn. The residual fertilizer in the soil should be cleaned in time, and then the plants should be moved to a cool and ventilated place for maintenance.

6. Pests

Mo Lan is prone to insect pests during its growth process, which can cause the leaf tips of the plant to turn yellow and dry. You can spray carbendazim on the plants for prevention and control, and promptly cut off the leaves bitten by the insects to prevent infection of other leaves.
