Can Epiphyllum be repotted in summer?

Epiphyllum cannot be repotted in summer. It is best to repot it in spring because new buds have not yet sprouted. Epiphyllum that has not fully matured should be repotted once a year. After maturity, it is generally repotted once every 2-3 years. Do not water it in the first few days after removing it from the pot. When transplanting, put a layer of small gravel at the bottom of the pot. It is most suitable to choose slightly acidic sandy soil with humus.

How to repot Epiphyllum

Epiphyllum grows relatively fast, so you can replace the soil with new one. Choose a slightly larger flowerpot. When the soil is completely dry, start to remove the plant from the pot. Handle the plant with care when removing it from the pot. Take out the plant, trim the old and rotten roots, place it aside to dry, put a layer of soil in the flowerpot, and then plant the Epiphyllum plant in it. Don't water it yet. Wait until it adapts, and then water it after two or three days.

Things to note when repotting Epiphyllum

1. Generally, choose flower pots with good air permeability, such as ceramic pots or clay pots, then put a layer of small gravel at the bottom of the flower pot, and then fill it with soil, and disinfect it at the same time.

2. When removing the plant from the pot, loosen the soil first, being careful not to damage the roots. Then turn the pot upside down, hold the outside of the pot with your left hand, and lift it gently. The entire potting soil will fall off.
